Santa Monica, California

Section 4.12.120 Restrictions in public parks or recreational facilities.

    (a)    No person shall play any drum or other percussion type instrument or device in or upon any public park or recreational facility maintained by the City of Santa Monica.

Section 4.08.070 Beaches--Dressing.

    No person shall dress or undress for the purpose of putting on or taking off a bathing garment, underneath any pier or wharf in the City, upon any public beach, or within a vehicle or portion thereof, other than a house trailer designed for living purposes. (Prior code § 4201)

Section 4.08.140 Playgrounds--Tents and umbrellas.

    No tents or umbrellas shall be allowed on any playground. (Prior code § 4203E)

Section 4.08.160 Playgrounds--Contagious diseases.

    Children with contagious diseases shall not come to any municipal playground and if found therein shall be immediately excluded. (Prior code § 4203G)

Section 4.08.230 Horses--Speed.

    No person shall drive or ride any horse or other animal upon any public highway or thoroughfare, within the corporate limits of the City, immoderately, or beyond a moderate gait…

 

Palm Springs, California

12.84.040 Golf cart operating regulations.

(a) Any person operating a golf cart on designated city streets shall abide by all applicable traffic laws of the city and state.

10.28.070 Slaughtering prohibited.

(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to slaughter any dog or cat.

(b) It shall be unlawful for any person to slaughter any cattle, sheep, swine, goat, horse or mule unless otherwise authorized to do so under state law. (Ord. 1400 § 2, 1991)

 

Burlingame, California

Section 10.60.040 Prohibition--Female.

Every female is guilty of a misdemeanor who, while participating in any live act, demonstration or exhibition in any public place, place open to the public or place open to public view, or while serving food or drink or both to any customer:

(a) Exposes any portion of either breast at or below the areola thereof; or

(b) Employs any device or covering, which is intended to simulate such portions of the breast

Section 13.40.080 Deposit of coins in meter by unauthorized person.

No person other than the owner or operator of a vehicle shall deposit any coin in any parking meter without the knowledge or consent of the owner or operator of the vehicle using the parking space immediately adjacent to the meter. (Ord. 1136 § 9 (part); October 2, 1978).

Section 23.01.030 Registration of pools, hot tubs and spas.

The building official shall keep a register of all swimming pools, hot tubs and spas within the city. Matters to be recorded shall include the address or legal description of the property, size of the unit, a general description of the improvements and accessories thereof and spaces for dates upon which inspections by any authority of the city are made. (Ord. 1185 § 1 (part); July 7, 1980).

Section 10.28.080 Unlawful to move building over streets without permit.*

It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to move or cause to be moved through the streets of the city, any building or structure, without first having obtained a permit from the building inspector so to do. The building inspector shall have full power in the granting or denying of permits. (1941 Code § 1240).

9.54.010 Unlawful during certain hours.

It is unlawful for any person to sleep in any vehicle parked in any public place in the city between the hours of 9 p.m. of one day and 9 a.m. of the next day. (1935 11/74)

9.60.030 Hypnotism--Practice Prohibited.

No person shall practice hypnotism within the city of Huntington Beach except psychologists licensed under Section 2903 of the California Business and Professions Code, and those persons who would be permitted to practice hypnosis under Section 2908 of the California Business and Professions Code, subject, however, to the restrictions and limitations contained in said Section 2908. Vacaville, California

Section 9.42.010 Prohibited.

Any person who throws stones or other missiles at persons passing on the street or in any other place or who frightens or attempts to frighten any horse or other animal carrying persons in vehicles or otherwise, or who wantonly or willfully throws stones or other missiles at any animals the property of another is guilty of a misdemeanor. (Prior code §14.20).

 

Beverly Hills, California

Sec. 5-2.104. Feeding non-domesticated mammalian predators prohibited.


          No person shall feed or in any manner provide food for any non-domesticated mammalian predator which is not under the ownership or legal possession of such person, including, but not limited to, coyotes, raccoons, foxes, and opossums.

Sec. 5-6.601. Landing prohibited.


          No person shall land any aircraft, including a helicopter, within the City, except that the Council may grant permission for such landing to protect the personal security of the President or Vice-President of the United States when visiting the City. (4-1.01)

Sec. 5-6.1305. Sleeping Dragons and other similar devices.

          No person shall carry or possess while on any public street, greenbelt, median island, parking lot, alley, sidewalk, or other public place or way open for pedestrian or vehicular travel any Sleeping Dragon Device with the intent to use the Sleeping Dragon Device to deny or obstruct the public's ability to freely move about on roadways, sidewalks, or into or out of buildings. For the purposes of this Section, a Sleeping Dragon Device shall mean a section of pipe, or a container, filled with weighted materials, handcuffs, chains, or other locking devices utilized for the purpose of locking a person or persons to other persons or other objects.

Sec. 21-5. Crime and horror comic books, licentious books -- Sale, etc., to minors prohibited.

It shall be unlawful and an offense for any person to sell, offer for sale, attempt to sell, exhibit, give away, keep in his possession with intent to sell or give away, or in any way furnish or attempt to furnish, to any child under the age of eighteen years, any crime comic book, horror comic book, or licentious book, as such terms are defined in this section.

The term "horror comic book" shall mean and include any book, magazine, pamphlet, or other publication in which there is prominently featured an account of, or the principal subject matter of which is, a violent death of a human being or an account of a violent physical assault upon or injury to a human being, or both, or an attempt at either, which account, or subject matter, is depicted by means of illustrations or cartoons which show real or fictional characters, human or inhuman, natural or supernatural, and which account, or subject matter, so pictorially depicted, is likely to produce terrifying and lasting fears, apprehensions, or anxieties, of a detrimental nature in or to the minds of children injurious to their welfare.

Sec. 21-24. Same -- Use for immoral purposes prohibited.

It shall be unlawful for two or more persons to rent or occupy any room in any lodging house, rooming house or hotel whatsoever in the city for immoral purposes, or for the proprietor, manager or other person in charge of any such lodging house, rooming house or hotel to rent, assign to, or permit two or more persons to occupy any such room with the knowledge that they intend to use it for immoral purposes, and in every instance such room is rented or assigned to two or more persons jointly, the book or register shall indicate the relationship of the parties as claimed by them. (Ord. No. 749 (NCS), § 4.)

Sec. 21-28. Loitering in certain places.*

It shall be unlawful for any person to loiter about any school or public place at or near which school children attend. (Ord. No. 802 (NCS), § 1.)

Sec. 21-31. Certain devices in demonstrations, etc., prohibited.

No person shall carry or possess while participating in any demonstration, rally, picket line or public assembly, any length of lumber, wood, or wood lath unless that object is one-fourth inch or less in thickness and two inches or less in width, or if not generally rectangular in shape, such object shall not exceed three-quarters inch in its thickest dimension. All materials attached to any such wood object must be fastened in such manner that the pointed ends of any metal fastener do not remain exposed. Metal rods and pipes are prohibited from use and shall not be carried by any person during such demonstration, rally, picket line or public assembly. (Ord. No. 1763 (NCS), § 1.)

Sec. 30-3. Riding animals on sidewalk prohibited.

No person shall ride, drive or lead any horse, mare, mule, cow, ox or similar animal on or along any sidewalk in the city; nor shall any such animal be hitched or tied so as to cause it to stand on any such sidewalk. (Ord. No. 22 (NS), § 9; Ord. No. 40 (NS), § 1.)

Sec. 30-4. Spitting on sidewalk prohibited.*

No person shall spit on any sidewalk. (Ord. No. 22 (NS), § 11.)

 

San Diego, California

§33.1615.1 Hours of Play - Bowling

It is further declared to be unlawful for any person to play, cause to be played, or permit to be played, the game of bowling, in The City of San Diego, between the hours of 2:00 o’clock A.M. and 6:00 o’clock A.M. (Incorp. 1—22—1952 by O—5046 N.S., contained in O—2329 N.S. adopted 12—16—1941.)

 

Dana Point, California

11.40.020 Intoxication on Private Premises.

It shall be unlawful for any person to be on any private premises or in any private house in a state of drunkenness or intoxication to the annoyance of others. (Added by Ord. 89-18, 7/11/89)

 

Richmond, California

11.44.010 Flying of kites with wire frames prohibited.

It shall be unlawful for any person in the City of Richmond to fly any kite the frame or any part of which is constructed of wire, or in the flying of which wire is used for any purpose.

11.48.010 Possession of lewd, obscene or indecent items prohibited in certain public places.

It shall be unlawful for any person to have in his possession any lewd, obscene or indecent writing, book, pamphlet, picture, photograph, drawing, figure, motion picture film, phonograph recording, wire recording or transcription of any kind in any of the following places:

(b) In any place of business where ice-cream, soft drinks, candy, food, school supplies, magazines, books, pamphlets, papers, pictures or postcards are sold or kept for sale;

(c) In any toilet or restroom open to the public;

(e) In any place where phonograph records, photographs, motion pictures or transcriptions of any kind are made, used, maintained, sold or exhibited.

Renting rooms.

No person shall sell, rent, let or assign any room or apartment within the city with the understanding or belief that such room or apartment is to be used by the person or persons to whom it is sold, let, rented or assigned for the purpose of having sexual intercourse with a person to whom the person is not married, or for the purpose of performing or participating in any lewd act with such person.
